Get Rid Of Your Runny Nose Fast

How To Make Vicks Vapor Shower Disks

Whether you are a busy stay-at-home-mum or working mum, it can be tough not being able to have a break to get over a cold, nor is it good having to constantly clear your child’s running nose or help a hubby get through the dreaded man flu!.
As a kid I loved Vicks Vapor rub on my chest but wish I had come across this idea to learn how to make Vicks Vapor Shower Disks sooner. It’s always great to have a 100% natural alternative to making your own shower disks and it saves money too. The great thing is that these Vicks Vapor Shower Disks really work!
I am not a doctor, so if you have any medical conditions please consult a medical practitioner prior to making and using these DIY shower disks.

What You’ll Need:

  • 3 cups of bicarbonate of soda
  • 2/3 a cup of water
  • Essential oils: eucalyptus, rosemary, and lavender.
  • Muffin tin
  • Muffin liners

How To Make Vicks Vapor Shower Disks:

Step 1: Mix baking soda with water gradually pouring in. Add more water if needed. Make sure it is like a thick paste.
Step 2: Pour into muffin trays, allowing 2/3 full each one and Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 mins.
Step 3: Add 1 drop of each Essential oils per muffin liner: eucalyptus, rosemary, and lavender to the top once cooled allowing them to soak in the oils.
Step 4: Allow to cool for 24 hours before using, so they are nice and hard. This mixture should make 12.

When you feel a cold coming on, or you have a runny/blocked nose. Add a shower disk to the bottom of your shower floor whilst you have your daily shower and feel the snot flow out. Gross I know, but it works, and your sinuses feel nice and clear afterwards.

Tips: To stop the Vicks Vapor Shower Disks from crumbling we encourage you to add the essential oils after you have baked them, remove the disks from the tray before the muffin tray has completely cooled, and also ensure the liners are removed from the disks before you add them to the shower. These vapor disks can be stored in a plastic container or mason jar in the cupboard.
